Hayley Take two

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

I wanted to test out the new (to me) Rolliecord film camera acquired about a month ago and I really wasn’t in the mood for landscapes, I wanted to shoot a living breathing human being. However, finding a model on short notice is almost impossible seeing that my kids won’t sit still and the wife hates having her picture taken (lol, yeah I know…and she’s married to a photographer).

Well, next to impossible was the case till I met Hayley who you may remember from a session we did at the beginning of April. Hayley is one amazing young lady. She has a great look, dances (see flying leg splits done during last session) and to top it all off, has a stellar work ethic. She is pretty much ready to shot on a dime. Last minute or a month away, if she is available she will be there. If you are ever looking for a model, I would high recommend dropping her a line. I will include her info at the bottom of the post.

Since this Rollie is completely manual and I grew up on the mini computers that are modern digital camera, all I had to figure out proper exposure was the ol’ noggin. Basically this all meant that I wasn’t sure if I was going to create some killer negatives or a roll of wasted film. I didn’t want Hayley’s time to be for not, so I brought my working camera as well so I could give her something for the portfolio even if I did mess up my exposures with the film. That’s what I have for you today. I will be showing the film if there is anything to show, but until then I have these for you.

Cheers!

Matt is on his way to L.A. and thought he could use a refresher on his portfolio, so he gave me a call and I was more then happy to help him out…

(Testing) Mandy Bo

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

I found Mandy on Model Mayhem last month. Most of the time when I contact models through that site, it’s a few months of messaging back and forth, then another month to find a day we both can shoot and then when that day does arrive, I site there with fingers crossed hoping the model will show up. That was not the case with Mandy! She got back to me in a matter of days and about a week or two later (that was yesterday) we were shooting. I just love it when things turn out that way and that isn’t often.

Mandy was a dream to work with, she was exactly what I was looking for, EXACTLY what I was looking for. When I first started thinking about the feel I was going after with this shoot, I was thinking of a model just like Mandy. I am hoping to work with her again soon, but until then I hope you enjoy the images we produced yesterday.

(Testing) with Lori Lynn

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Last winter London was hit with a large snow storm just before Christmas, it was -10 degrees Celsius and the wind was killer making it seem much colder. But none of that stop Lori Lynn from being the pro that she is, strutting her stuff in Westminister Pond.

Hope you enjoy!

(Testing) with Val & Damon

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Over the next little while I thought it would be fun to show some of my person testing that I have done. Testing is basically a staged shoot with models for the purpose of trying out new techniques and ideas. It’s a great way of staying creative and challenging yourself…Keeping things fresh so to speak.

The first testing session I want to share is also my latest with Valerie and Damon. I have to give props to Val and Damon for this one, it was a chilly day and these two were real troopers for braving the wind without their jackets, but I tried my best to keep them warm by getting them to snuggling, kissing and running around in a circle (see the last image for that one) as much as possible.

I had lots of fun with this cute couple and who knows, maybe the next time I do a E-session with these two it will be the real deal…No pressure Damon ;-)
